We have a very special Thursday concert this week with West Texas singer/songwriter Colin Gilmore. The concert begins at 8 pm and tickets are $10 each. The reviews for Colin have been great.
"Colin Gilmore uncorks deep feelings on "Goodnight Lane" while never letting the bubbles go flat...These are songs you're gonna want to hear live," Michael Corcoran of the Austin American Statesman.
"Colin Gilmore has the best country album of the year," though acknowledging that calling the album "country" would be a gross oversimplification, The Hartford Courant.
Call 530-3463 for tickets.
This week we turn decidedly fall with our specials, following the lead of the weather. Our Thursday Night One Pot Wonder is Red-Roast Duck Legs and Thighs with Sweet Potatoes & Daikon. We are serving this gluten-free dish over a fifty fifty mixture of brown and white rice for $16. With our special concert on Thursday evening, please plan on coming early before we are sold out.
Next, our weekly special is our homemade Beef Stew with root vegetables and a glass of Willow Crest Syrah for $15, a very classic wine and food pairing perfect for our new weather reality. Finally, we are making a beautiful Mushroom Soup for lunch both Friday and Saturday, $5/bowl, $3/cup. This is the fantastic soup for the fall and pairs amazingly with Pinot Noir. Also, don't miss our homemade chicken pot pie that is now back on the lunch menu.
Fall also means a real need for Pinot noir and this week we are holding a tasting of this amazing varietal produced in all the main growing regions of the world, France, California, Oregon, New Zealand and even Argentina. The complementary tasting begins in our Gallery this Friday Oct 7th at 5 pm.
