Olsen Hills Wine Tasting
Friday March 23, 2012 5-7 pm
Many of you may know, Olsen Estates is winding down their wine making operations, while their vineyards are continuing a robust growth as they have for four decades. Paul Gregutt says about Olsen Estate, "...there is some good news to be shared. The Olsen vineyards - some 800 acres in all - will continue, and there are good contracts for the fruit. The 2008 and 2009 wines will be released into the market over the next year or so, and among them are some outstanding wines, which will reward your efforts to find them." We have them this Friday!
We will be tasting these wines: Olsen 2008 Chardonnay, Olsen 2008 Red Blend, Olsen Estates 2008 Petit Verdot 2008, Olsen Estates 2008 Merlot, and Olsen Estates 2008 Malbec, all under $20!
We start at 5 pm this Friday, so don't miss the tasting. The wines will be available with a 20% discount on case purchases. Of course, Good For You Wine Club members receive a 15% discount on all purchases.
Winemaker Marie-Eve Gilla
Forgeron Cellars Wine Tasting
Saturday March 24, 2012 1-3 pm
Forgeron is the French word for blacksmith and their winery/tasting room is located on the former site of a blacksmith shop in Walla Walla. The word "Forgeron" also has a slightly different meaning in French, referring to artisans who build with their hands combining experience with an extensive knowledge of their trade. This is the vision that winemaker Marie-Eve Gilla brings to the winery each day, crafting complex, food friendly wines from vineyards chosen for maturity and flavor profile.
We will be pouring Forgeron Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon along with Forgeron's new Blacksmith label Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah, all great values! Marie-Eve makes really great wines.
We start at 1 pm this Saturday, so don't miss the tasting.
The wines will be available with a 20% discount on case purchases. Of course, Good For You Wine Club members receive a 15% discount on all purchases.
Dinner with Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars Winemaker Jean-Francois Pellet
April 5, 2012 6:30 pm
Two of Walla Walla's premier wineries, Pepper Bridge Winery and Amavi Cellars and their amazing winemaker Jean-Francois Pellet will at Morso for a Winemaker Dinner on Aril 5th at 6:30 pm. Not only are their wines phenomenal year after year, but JF is a great ambassador of the Walla Walla area. JF worked at Heitz Cellars in Napa before joining Pepper Bridge in 1999. "I saw it as a great adventure," Pellet says. "Walla Walla impressed me right away as a unique grape-growing area, and Pepper Bridge Winery gave me a chance to build a winery from scratch in a region whose blend of old and new world traditions reflected my own interests and experiences." JF is also a founding partner in sister winery, Amavi Cellars, which was created in 2001. Come and share an amazing dinner at Morso with our friend JF and the wines of Pepper Bridge and Amavi. We have created a special 5 course menu for the evening.
