Southern Rhone Wine Tasting
April 21, 2017 5-7pm
On Friday April 21 from 5-7pm, we are featuring the great wines of Maison Brotte with our friend Sarah Timbrook-Nugent. Maison Brotte located in Chateauneuf-du-Pape is a Southern Rhone specialist, with four properties devoted to quality wines true to the style and character of the region. Charles Brotte founded the estate in 1931, and his grandson Laurent runs it today. The family has been an ambassador connecting Rhone wines with the broader world, with the founder first to implement a "modern" bottling line in Chateauneuf-du-Pape in the 1950s, and his wife a leader in the embrace of agritourism with the creation of the Chateauneuf Wine Museum Brotte in 1972. Perhaps you have been one of the 35,000 visitors the museum welcomes annually. We will sample a range of wines that showcase the intersection of quality, value, and tradition. We will be sampling:
Brotte 2016 "Les Elegantiers" Viognier
Brotte 2015 Tavel Rose "Les Eglantiers"
Brotte 2014 Cotes-du-Rhone Rouge Esprit Barville
Brotte "Domaine Grosset" 2013 Cairanne
Brotte 2015 Chateuneuf-du-Pape Rougue "Les Hauts de Barville"
